Cognitive Machines Are Learning From Their Mistakes

Thirty-five years ago, actor Matthew Broderick starred in the 1983 science fiction blockbuster, WarGames. Mistakenly accessing a government computer system, the high school-aged protagonist, David Lightman, sets the world out on a dangerous path towards World War III. Only in the last moments of the film is the nuclear crisis averted when the computer system begins to learn and teach itself the consequences of its actions.
